Dataeagle on läpinäkyvä  radiolinkki langattomaan Profibus liikennöintiin. Projekti voidaan tehdä kuten ennenkin kaapelin avulla. Kun kaikki toimii kaapeli voidaan katkaista ja laittaa DATAEAGLE radiolinkki tilalle.

The time is ripe for wireless transmission techniques in the automatic control engineering as a replacement for sliprings, trailing cables, data link barriers and data waveguides for communication to mobile systems. Schildknecht Industrieelektronik offers with its radio systems, named DATAEAGLE, special solutions for industrial requirements.

Especially due to two points we are proud of us: All current interfaces and protocols are available which are used by SPS controls, e.g. Ethernet, Profibus, MPI 3964R and Modbus. In our newest version DATAEAGLE 3002 it's also possible to transfer the safe variant Profisafe based on Profibus over radio.

 

The second speciality is the independency of certain radio technologies. So it's possible to link Profibus over DECT as well as over WLAN and Bluetooth. After experiences for years with many different projects of application in the industry, we think that there does not exist "the" radio technology which is suitable for all different areas of application in the same way. A McLaren Mercedes racing car is maybe currently the best solution to win Formula 1 Grand Prixes, but it's definitively not qualified to go on holidays with the whole family - so it's the same like with the different radio technologies. That's the reason why we use the most suitable technology according to different problems like the range, data transfer, coexistence with other already installed radio systems, stell proportion in the radio cell or the speed of the mobile participants etc.

 

Despite the current ascent and euphoria of the topic radio and the wireless automatic control engineering, we emphasize on project-related consulting to separate early the "wireless suitable" and the "wireless unsuitable" applications. We think that radio transmission can only be successful, if you find adventages which are equalizing the extra costs compared to the pure cable-costs. In present applications these are the costs of investment and maintenance for slip rings and infrared data transmission. Here you can also add the missing maintenance and wastage of the radio transmission into the "return of invest" calculation.
